Role

Lead UX/UI Designer

Background

Disney Concerts is an online catalog for Guests to request music licenses from the Disney catalog for their upcoming concerts.

Disney Concerts

The Challenge

Disney Concert Library was a pdf catalog where Guests would gather their requests for music licenses into an email they would send to Disney. The emails would often not contain necessary information, making the process more complicated and cumbersome than it needed to be.

My Role

My role as the lead UX and UI designer was to define how we could improve the requests for music licensing for concerts. Guests needed to be able to more easily find available music and be able to easily request a license for their concert. We wanted to streamline and simplify the process to reduce the number of emails needed to complete the licensing requests.

The Approach

  • Review existing experience
  • Map improved user flows
  • Visual designs to share with stakeholders

Gathering Insights

The Discovery

Review of the existing experience indicated that the catalog was not easily browsable for Guests. The website linked to a pdf and provided an email to request information. Stakeholder interviews revealed that it often took several emails back and forth to gather what music the Guest was requesting before being able to complete the transaction.

Key Findings:

  • Difficult to find available music for licensing
  • Requests for music often didn’t contain all necessary information

Designs

Goals

Based on the research insights our goals were to improve the process of requesting music licenses for concerts by making it easier to find available music and reducing the steps needed to complete the licensing.

Wireframes

Wireframes defined searching for music and adding multiple titles into a cart to capture all of the requirements with a single email order form.

Visual Design

Now accessible across devices, the improved Disney Concerts responsive website was an easy way add music to a list and collect all the required information from Guests for requesting licenses.
